Beach Haven has announced its special holiday beach badges are now on sale. The badge was designed by Marina Bresley, a fifth-grade student at Beach Haven Elementary School.
“It’s fun to get the kids involved in the design,” said Mary Clare Bunce, deputy borough clerk “Last year was the first time we partnered with the school, and it was open to any child from preschool to sixth grade."
The badges, which some people purchase as stocking stuffers for the holiday, cost $32 each (pre-season $30 fee plus $2 for the gift box). They can be purchased at the borough clerk’s office or by logging onto the borough website, beachhaven-nj.gov. Details can be found by clicking on “beach badge information.”
Bunce said Beach Haven ordered 300 tags.
“Last year, we ordered 300, but wound up having to order another 50 because they sold real fast,” she said. “Currently, we’re close to 100.”
